Your account and your data

Roam stores the trips you create — stops, dates, notes, bookings, expenses, fuel records, checklists and saved places — along with your name and email address, so everything syncs across your devices and to anyone you share a trip with. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Getting your data out. Every trip can be exported to a JSON file from Trip → Export or import → Download JSON backup. It contains that trip's stops, expenses, fuel, lists, activities and templates in a single file, and the same screen imports one back.

Deleting your account. Profile → Account → Delete account. It happens immediately and it cannot be undone. Before it runs, Roam tells you exactly what will go:

• Trips you own are deleted outright — including for anyone you shared them with. If people are editing your trips, the confirmation names how many and warns you that they lose those trips too.
• Your memberships on other people's trips are removed. Their trips are unaffected.
• Your profile and saved places are purged, and for Sign in with Apple accounts we also revoke the Apple token.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel that first — see below — or it keeps billing.

Roam Plus and subscriptions

Roam Plus comes two ways, bought in the iPhone app through your App Store account or on roam-trip.com:

• Annual, which auto-renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the year ends. A one-week free trial is available if you have not had one before.
• For life, one payment that does not renew or expire. Nothing to cancel.

If you already have a monthly subscription or a trip pass, it keeps working as before.

To manage or cancel, on your iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Roam. You can also reach it from the App Store app: your profile picture, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Plus stays on until the period you have paid for runs out.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by Roam — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue or see App Store refunds.

Changed device, or Plus not showing? Make sure you are signed in to Roam with the same account, then use Profile → Account → Restore purchases.

Using Roam offline

Roam is built for the parts of the map with no bars, and offline is the expected case rather than an error state.

• Everything keeps working without signal. You can add and move stops, log expenses and fuel, tick checklists and edit bookings while completely offline.
• Changes sync when signal returns, on their own. You do not need to reopen the app or press anything.
• What does need a connection is anything that asks the outside world: searching for a place you have not added yet, weather, and Roam's trip ideas. Places already on your trip stay fully available offline.

If something you changed offline has not appeared on another device, open Roam on the device you made the change on and give it a moment with signal — that is the device holding the change.

Use Roam with Claude or ChatGPT

1. In Roam, open Profile → Account → Your AI and copy the address: https://roam-trip.com/mcp
2. Claude: Customize › Connectors › Add › Add custom connector. Name it Roam and paste the address. ChatGPT: Plugins › + › Add custom MCP server. Name it Roam and paste the address.
3. Sign in to Roam on the page that opens, choose what the assistant can do, and allow it.
4. Ask things like “What’s on tomorrow?” or “Add two nights at Exmouth.”

Every change shows in Roam with Undo. Disconnect any time from Profile → Account → Your AI.

If Roam is listed in Claude’s connector directory, you can add it from there instead: search for Roam and tap Connect.
